BETH S. KANE, M.S.W., LCSW, DBTC, CRMT, CCH, CHTR
I see you. I see you are your own person and not one of us fits into a defined mold. I get it - not every approach is right for you. It’s why I went on a mission to find different modalities to offer you. When I did my own healing (life happens to all of us, right?), I found something to be missing from the traditional ways. And, there was no one way that did it all. So, I set myself on a quest to find the missing pieces, so I could bring them to my clients too.
Working with me you can choose traditional counseling or Certified Integrative Mental Wellness Coaching and/or Energy Healing. Offering an integrative, holistic approach to wellness has been what I’ve found works best and research supports this mind-body-spirit connection.
I am educated, certified and deeply experienced in, integrative and holistic approaches to coaching, individual therapy as well as complementary Energy Healing services (which is offered as an add-on or standalone service).
A little bit about each of these services are here for you:
Utilizing diet, culinary, herbal, somatic and other approaches as a path to wellness. For more information, please visit my Coaching page, by clicking here.
I specialize, and work exclusively with, women who are dealing with stress and/or anxiety. Therapy with me isn’t just about the usual “talk therapy”, and while valuable, I also integrate actual coping skill-building activities to help you in a more concrete, and lasting, way utilizing an integrative approach. It's my goal to help you work on healing on every level.
Please note: For counseling clients - Currently I participate as an out-of-network provider (which allows me to focus more on you and less on paperwork). Once you start using your out-of-network benefit, you will oftentimes be reimbursed according to your plan as we work together so the flow of money back to you will help offset the cost of our sessions. In other words, once your claim is processed, and depending on your coverage, the insurance company will send you a check directly so you can get reimbursed which helps offset your out-of-pocket costs and makes paying for future sessions a bit easier. I will provide you with an itemized statement at each session, and I’m happy to help answer any questions you have about this process.
I also participate with Aetna insurance (excluding plans administered by Meritain).

**Why I Choose Not to Participate with Most Insurance
While I completely understand the value of insurance, and I was involved with insurance for many years, a few issues I found difficult to overlook. For instance, when an insurance company pays for your sessions, they have the right to access your records. This can be an issue for many people who are concerned about their privacy and the true nature of confidentiality. It's been estimated that when working through insurance, on average, 14 different people are accessing your records. This isn't meant to scare you, but it is, I think worth being transparent about so you understand why this is a concern for some people. Insurance companies can also dictate your treatment even though they may not have the full picture of why you are needing and seeking services. They can determine how often I see you, how long I can see you, etc., and I don't feel an insurance representative without extensive training or the knowledge of you personally should dictate your treatment. This, of course, is my opinion.
I have a small group of clients I do work with because when you work with me, our work doesn't end after our office session is over. While you are practicing skills and integrating change, I spend many hours between our sessions developing your treatment plan, compiling and individualizing worksheets and other tools that are uniquely designed for you. The time I invest in you goes well beyond the time just spent in the office. I work with clients who are deeply invested in making sustainable change and are ready and willing to do the work involved.
I offer you extensive education, certification, training, and most importantly years of experience, that I bring into each and every session.
So how can you find out how your OON benefits work?
Call the Member Services phone number on the back of your card, and ask:
-Do I have out-of-network benefits?
-What is the rate I will be reimbursed?
-Are there any referrals or other limitations/deductibles that are part of my plan?
- Once I receive a receipt for services (I do provide you with an itemized receipt), how can I submit this to you for reimbursement? (
Generally, there is a simple form you need to attach to the receipt with just your basic information, but again this can vary so please ask.)
